Ordering
Beef is available in early to late fall when the animals are 17-30 months old. In order to comply with food safety regulations we must sell it live and then provide the cutting and wrapping as a service, so you can order 1/4, 1/2 or whole interest at $1.20/lb live weight plus cutting and wrapping. It works out to about $5.75/lb ready for your freezer. You can expect between 320 and 400 lbs of meat from a whole animal in nearly equal amounts of steaks, roasts and burger. It takes about 10 cubic feet of freezer space to hold a whole beef.
When filling out the order form, don't forget to tell us how many servings you want in a package or if you want extra burger etc.
We also sell our mother cows after their calving years are over. While the flavor is great, they are a little tough for anything but hamburger. Again, 1/4, 1/2 and whole interests are available at .90/lb live weight plus grinding and wrapping for a total of about $3.15/lb.
